I have an antique Rolex Prince Observatory (Doctor's duo-dial) which was purchased in Canada circa 1930, by my late father. Problem? No problem with the movement, but it was sold, new, with a gold filled case. THAT is the problem. As you may see in the picture I have uploaded, the gold filling is worn through. I have just checked on line to see what there might be available in after market replacement cases, and I found this.

Has anyone had any experience with this supplier? If necessary to cover your tail, you may reply by PM.

Now to the actual watch. The dial is original and un-restored, and I will probably leave it that way.

Bump, just in case it might do any good. Anybody know of a source for a case for my Prince Observatory?

Nice watch! Once in a while I see them come up on ebay but the most difficult part would be finding one that fits. The replacement case you posted might be a different model as the lugs are more flared.

Have you ever considered replating it?

Kyle,

Thanks for your reply. I don't like the colour of repealed items. This case is gold filled, not electro-plated. I have a friend who does excellent gold plating, but even his plating doesn't look gold filled. The one this source is offering is called the "Brancard" model as you will see in the forward. I am confident that the case they offer is intended for this movement. But since it IS after market, I approach it with caution.
