Rolex jubilee repair

Hello,

a friend of my parents gave me his Rolex in order that I help him repair it. Indeed it needs a fresh crystal (I manage to get back the old one with polywatch while I'm looking for a watchmaker that can change it).

Other problem is the bracelet, one link is broken. Do you guys know if it can be repaired (link seems folded, so I think I could change it but I don't find any spare link) ?

Thanks !

If you have the link, a jeweler could probably repair it, but the bracelet is badly stretched out. I'd be tempted to replace it or have it repaired and reconditioned by Michael Young (http://www.classicwatchrepair.com).

Great suggestion above.
Unfortunately, the link that is broken (which the end link attaches to) is a permanent link so it would have to be pulled apart to remove.
Now, as a quick fix, you can remove the last link and just use the next one with the endlink. If you know a jeweler, he should be able to do this for you fairly quickly. If you have a spare also an easy fix..

Thanks guys, I sent an email to Michael Young.

If that's too expensive for him I'll try to find a link and change it. The bracelet is kinda stretched, is it dangerous ? I'm afraid it could break.

Another mention for Michael Young. Brought my badly stretched and dented 5513 bracelet. It well take long, but totally worth it.

Another vote for Michael Young, but that’s only if you plan to refurb the entire bracelet. Otherwise, not worth the wait and hassle. A competent jeweler would be able to remake and reattach that one link for you.

@Folgono
Sand Hill Watch Company is new on the scene (in San Francisco) but they are receiving very positive word-of-mouth. [@morningtundra provided a link above]. If you decide to do a full bracelet restoration, and you're in the U.S., I would certainly reach out to them.

I have a 7205 14k rivet there now, I’ll post before and after + review when it comes back. They seem like a great bunch of guys, I’m looking forward to it.

Cool, the more reviews (good or bad) the better. I haven't tried them out yet myself, but have been hearing good things.
Anxious to hear your report! 👍
