·Rolex GMT-Master II Ref. 16760 R-Serial (1987)
Price: $12,000 USD
Details
Dial: Glossy black dial with tritium lume housed in white gold surrounds.
Case: 40 mm diameter with a lug width of 20mm.
Movement: Automatic.
Insert / Crystal: Black and red “Coke” insert. Sapphire crystal.
Bracelet: Rolex Oyster bracelet 78360 with and 501 end pieces. Eleven center links. Clasp code K12 (1986, December).
Accessories: Interior and exterior boxes.
Condition: Watch shows typical signs of wear. Dial shows a faint hand-drag. The handset has been reset to eliminate any further drag. Minor scratches and nicks are visible on the case. Insert is excellent. Bracelet shows light scratches. Crystal shows some minor nicks on the edge. Case may have received a light polish in the past, or may simply be “sleeve polished.” Lugs are quite sharp and the brushed factory finish is strong. Reference and serial numbers are well defined. Watch runs strong and keeps good time. Service history is unknown.
Notes: The Ref. 16760 had a relatively low production run spanning the years 1983-1988. When the 16760 debuted in ‘83 it earned the “Fat Lady” and “Sophia Loren” nicknames due to its larger case and crown guards, and wider bezel. Besides being the first in the “GMT-Master II” line, the Ref. 16760 was also equipped with the first black and red Coke insert, and the first GMT to have an independent center hour hand. I was fortunate to source this beautiful fresh-to-market Ref. 16760 from the original owner who resides in the American Northeast.
Terms and conditions of sale: Three-day return policy if the timepiece purchased is not the one pictured, or as described. A returned timepiece will be scrutinized in detail to make sure no parts have been altered or damaged in any way. Buyer is responsible for the cost of postage and insurance of any returned item. All international sales are final -- No Exceptions.
Outgoing shipments are packaged carefully and sent fully insured. If your package is lost in transit a refund will be issued after the insurance claim has been approved. A face-to-face transaction is possible if you are in Los Angeles, CA.
Accepted forms of payment are wire transfer, bank check, or cash if making a transaction in person. Watch will not be sent prior to the receipt and clearance of funds. Bank wire instructions will be given to the buyer upon confirmation of a purchase.
