Hi all

The time has come to let one or two pieces go as it's been one way traffic recently.

So, up for sale is an amazing Rolex GMT Master 16700, recently serviced at Rolex and in excellent condition. I'm not sure if it is quite a full set but it comes with both inner and outer boxes, punched guarantee papers, Rolex GMT booklet, Rolex Oyster booklet, translation booklet, 1996/97 calendar, wallet and swing tag.

The watch appears to have been sold in 1996 (year is stated but not the month or day). It is stamped Hong Kong.
The watch was serviced whilst in my ownership, in 2019 at Rolex St James' in London and I will include the paperwork. It will come with the remainder of the Rolex service guarantee and the service stickers are still attached to the case as I haven't worn it since.

CASE; the case is even and thick, as it should be with no visible scratches as far as I can see.

BEZEL INSERT: original Rolex "Pepsi" insert.

DIAL/HANDS: Believed to be original tritium dial and hands with no blemishes.

CROWN: The crown was replaced by Rolex (the original crown will be included in the sale). The reason I had the watch serviced in the first place was because I managed to do something inadvertently stupid when winding the hands and appear to have damaged the crown mechanism. Rolex rectified this at the time of service.

BRACELET: The bracelet is a 78360 with 501b endlinks. Believed to be original to the watch. All twelve links present.

MOVEMENT: Original 3175 automatic movement, as mentioned, I had it serviced at Rolex London HQ in 2019. Needless to say it is running as it should.

BOX & PAPERS: already described above and in excellent condition. There is a small dink and some wear to the outer box but it is in very good condition for its age.

PRICE: I am asking £10,500 insured and shipping to the UK which I think is a good price given the fact it's recently had a £600 service.

I would prefer a UK sale if possible as in my experience trying to obtain insurance for a watch of this value, shipped overseas is very expensive.

Payment by bank transfer.

I have bought and sold various watched on the OF and would be happy to provide references upon request.

Please message me if you are interested in the watch and thanks OF for the space.

What a lovely piece. Excuse my ignorance, but what are the blue lines on the case sides for? Thanks and GLWS!

Reflections of a ceiling?

Edit: No, not that. Maybe "Case Side Protector Film" similar to the one on the caseback?

Hmmm? Multiple blue lines are not similar to the one red stripe on the case back, which most are familiar with. Any other guesses?

I can confirm that both the case back and the case side protection were applied by Rolex when it was serivced in 2019.

A few nibbles but nothing firm so price further reduced for a while before I decide to sell elsewhere. GMT's, especially in this condition are only going up in value!
