I've always been reluctant to dip my toes in the Rolex waters, the prices and speculation make me wonder about a lot of dials. The brand new quality of so many dials on the market have me constantly scratching my head.
Can anyone please tell me how the printing on this dial could be this rough?
If it were another brand I collect I would be VERY suspicious, the hands too.

thanks for your thoughts Rolex dudes.
For me is a HK (Yuki) or Indian dial , the lumi and printing does not seem original in my opinion. The impression lacks body and Lumi is too yellow. Of course I can be wrong.

Yep..I think you are...
Deep patina like the dial initially displayed is not uncommon..Some are downright orangy. My watch was always exposed to light. Watches that sit in drawers tend to have the tritium go yellow. That and moisture. Based on the close up presented I can be almost 100% sure the tritium was not manipulated and authentic.

Is this from experience? The dial looks correct to me. If u read the earlier post, this particular dial has this peculiar dot prayed printing. And I've seen many drsd with dull red printing due to age. I doubt Yuki or anyone can imitate it to such perfection as the original without spending a lot of money to the point that it's not feasible to recoup the investment.

As for the patina, certainly possible it's original or even tempered with. But then again, if the fakers can do such a job to fool even the experts, I don't mind really. Just my 2 cents.

I blame it on the autoconnect.

This looks like a good enough excuse to post a photo of my Mk3;

Why not? It's a gorgeous example. Thin case?

Nope, Mk2 would be thin cased.

Hm. I have a 2.1 mil mark 3 with thin case. It's in the safe right now. Will take pics sometime. [emoji106]

Shouldn't a 2.1 mil serial be equipped with a Mk II dial? Especially if it's a thin case?
I believe that is too early for a Mk III.
Cheers,

EDIT: Mk III dals start about 3.1 mil per Marcello Pisani who is considered the top expert on the subject.

U are right it's mark 2. [emoji23] As it sits in the safe too long, I've forgotten about it. [emoji17] I guess I'm not that young anymore. RIP Marci.

Nice single red...yeah the rolex dials make me nervous and I have experience. I wouldn't do a thing on anything watch or otherwise at this price point without research.
