Where should the serial number on the movement appear ? I didn’t see any.

What are you asking this to be checked for? Authenticity? There's about a million things to consider, yet the only thing we're to consider is an off-center shot of one of the most commonly produced chronograph movements of the 1950s-60s?

What are you trying to learn? Rolex "serial numbers" are on the case, not the movement. Rolex does keep records of which movement went in which case, but they don't make those records available.

Are you trying to sell this watch now?

No I don’t want to sell it. I want to buy more original parts. And I know that serial is not on the movement but a user named sleepyaustraunat is asking and I replied. The case is not original. I just need to know if the movement is inorder to decide if I invest in this watch or not.

The expert I showed it to said the movement is original. And here all past comments say it’s not.

Then you just have a difference of opinion . You have to choose who you believe, that’s all.

you could take it in person to another expert for a third opinion.

Given how much of the watch is not genuine I’d think the chances that the actual movement is are slim. Not saying it’s not possible and am not qualified to verify it myself, but…. It would surprise me.

if you like the watch though, wear it and enjoy it.

I don't think the movement is original Rolex, but even if it were, I can't imagine that trying to restore this watch would make sense. You are starting from near-zero. Original parts for this rare reference will be virtually impossible to find and incredibly expensive. And in the end, you would have a put-together thing that no collector would want.

If you found an expert who thinks the movement is original, ask him to buy it. Then scrap the case and move on.
