The “O” denotes a “Sigma” dial which means the markers and hands are solid gold.

Sigma.

Means the hands and hour markers are gold.

Popular in the early 70’s.

that "O" is actually a lowercase greek letter "sigma" σ and denotes gold dial markers.

edit: wow, we are bored today

Minor quibble, but the watch is not a DateJust as indicated in the thread title. This is an OP Date, and I assume a ladies version.

Some say Omega did not have Delta dials because they were already marked with an Omega…

Glad you like it here, we do too. Some nice values in the smaller Rolex sizes and they make for great ladies watches. My wife liberated my Airking.

Not sure anyone answered yet but the O is a lower case Greek letter for Sigma which means the markers and hands are gold.

Also, I know you didn't ask but, if you spell Rolex backwards it comes out as Xelor... which, interestingly, is Rolex in reverse.

Well, the watch went for 2450 € on the auction to another person, I wasn't keen on bidding over that..
It needed a service also..

That's quite a high price for a ladies DJ. But it also seems that the overall dip in DJ prices overall may be passing. In the last week, I've seen some fairly common men's 160X and 160XX variants sell in the high $4k range in obscure auctions.

That’s a shame, I was waiting for my (desired) 1972 1603 to come back down to 2015 prices.

I think that people maybe are looking for Christmas gifts?
😉

I do know that the prices on auctions are strange these days...

Prices in auctions are always quite variable. But they are a good way to understand trends if you follow prices in general. Always consider prices with fees, it's pointless even to mention the hammer price.
