Hello,

This is my first post on this forum (I am a Longines owner), but was wondering if anybody has Guido Mondani's "Rolex: Collecting Modern and Vintage Wristwatches" book.
Is it good? I have an opportunity to buy it for 170€ (brand new). Is it worth the investment?

Thank you in advance for taking the time to answer me.

IMO it is a good one to have, and not a bad first. I would not rely too heavily on any single reference book for vintage Rolex - that arena is full of specialization and minutia.

Mistakes are very expensive and fakes/frauds are quite common. VRF is great source of info and expert advice, and has some very good reference material.

Another book worth seeking out is The Rolex Report by John Brozek; it's quite informative.

Both nice, but as Darlingboy said they are not "god word". Bear in mind that there is no official history ever released by Rolex and in those messy times a lot happended at the factory, the delears and repair shops. exceptions and strange combinations are quite common
