This is a prime example of always asking if there is more. I bought a record collection from a woman who was cleaning out her parents house. After we had settled on a price, I asked if there were any electronics..... she brought me into the attic where there was a stack of vintage Mcintosh. I told her I wanted to buy it and she told me to take it away as part of the record deal. I insisted that it had value and I wanted to pay her, but she said she didn’t really care and would rather me just have it.
Always ask the question.

Sometimes asking if you have anymore items. Can be NOT a good thing.

One of my friends and I went to a local weekend flea market. My friend is into horological items mainly clock’s. We stopped at one table my friend picked up an old uncommon clock for a very good price. He asked the sellers if they had anymore clocks. The sellers replied yes but they were not at the flea market. The clocks they mentioned they had must have been very valuable. I’m not into clocks so I would have no knowledge about the clocks

The sellers told my friend about the clocks and he would be able to view them later in the week. When I learned about the location of the clocks. And the directions they gave him I thought to myself NO way would I get into that deal. They gave him address to a house in the inner city. The hood a real bad area.

They gave him a time to view the clocks with instructions and directions to the house. They said things like park in front of the house and go around to the rear of the house. After we walked away from the vendors table, I told my friend you better not show up at the house.

I told him if you really want those clocks tell them to bring them to the flea market next week. Greed must have taken over my friend showed up at that house with a few thousand bucks in his pockets and he got mugged.

Real shame for watchmakers that have had accounts for 20/30 years, plus Rolex making them upkeep accounts by spending tens of thousands on tools and updated caliber courses, to just randomly get a letter with four lines in the mail. Pretty disgusting behavior imo.
