Just picked up this '71 1803. Thinking a nice black matte alligator will be nice for more formal settings but would like a grained calfskin for more casual wear. Cant decide between a taupe or brown strap. Leaning towards taupe but havent been able to find a picture of taupe with a champagne dialed 1803. Anyone have pictures of a YG 1803 on grained calfskin? https://www.molequin.com/product/grained-taupe https://www.molequin.com/product/grained-chocolate-brown https://shop.hodinkee.com/products/the-reid-watch-strap-in-light-brown?variant=32692656209995
Its an 18038 but you can see it in a thread that I started on another forum. https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=656334
Appreciate all the feedback. Went with a very dark brown, grained calfskin from Bulang and Sons. Much better than what it had and extremely comfortable!
Nice one! I experiment with straps on mine from time to time … but it invariably ends up back on the bracelet…
Reach out to the WatchPartDoc on Instagram. That guy has a ton of old Rolex parts and bracelets. I got a full bracelet from him for $3800 less than 2 years ago.
Love the look of the hands on this reference. What year is it from though, I've never seen that font for the Tiffany stamp?
