    Just picked up this '71 1803. Thinking a nice black matte alligator will be nice for more formal settings but would like a grained calfskin for more casual wear. Cant decide between a taupe or brown strap. Leaning towards taupe but havent been able to find a picture of taupe with a champagne dialed 1803. Anyone have pictures of a YG 1803 on grained calfskin?

    My 18038 was from 1985, I think the OPs watch is from 1971

    Appreciate all the feedback. Went with a very dark brown, grained calfskin from Bulang and Sons. Much better than what it had and extremely comfortable!

    I experiment with straps on mine from time to time …

    Reach out to the WatchPartDoc on Instagram. That guy has a ton of old Rolex parts and bracelets. I got a full bracelet from him for $3800 less than 2 years ago.

    Love the look of the hands on this reference. What year is it from though, I've never seen that font for the Tiffany stamp?
