I personally think its not a good choice. Its had a hard life.

Here is one of mine. Its been well used but never polished.

Nice...day and night comparing both examples. I decide to pass on this and safe up for a better example. The lugs do really look different

I agree with @bags1971 that this looks like a service dial. Coronet is widely spread and the "L" is far to the left.

Yes, the case is somewhat polished, noticeable around the lug holes and the 11 o'clock lug seems a bit thin. But the dial is my bigger concern.

I think that's a good idea.

What were they asking for it?

Thanks everyone for th

Even without a bracelet, that is dirt cheap, and suggests the seller is aware of the service dial.

I must say, I don't share your opinion. I think its expensive for what it is.

Yes...now that u mentioned it I believe the seller knows about the service dial. But I think I will save up for a better condition..give me more satisfaction to get one like @oinkitt 😀

Will agree with Dan here.

A 1680 with service dial and no patina will run $11k-$11.3k. I sold one to a dealer who listed and sold it at this price just a month ago.

$8.8k cheap for a service dial WITH a nice patina, and even taking into consideration the polished lugs and sans bracelet.

We all have different market value tolerances, but if you are not happy with the overall condition, you should avoid this watch and save $3-4K for a better one.

Hi everyone, I have recently been offered a Rolex Sub 1680 without box and papers. I have been reading a lot about 1680s but was still unsure how honest this piece is.

I would really appreciate any kind of inputs and help from members here.

I have been reading that there are some Vietnam cases of 1680 circulating and it worries me.

This watch is a clear example of dishonest techniques. Service dial and also faded. To save your money was the best option 👍

Watch is a mess. Should be a red 1680 dial for that serial number, of course, the case ain't great at all, and I don't like what I see in the lume on the dial, nor cracking hands. Look how some of the hour plots almost seem glued on, with paint exposed underneath. They should also have a waffle texture.

Hard pass, at any price.

Never buy a sub par example...a watch with issues, is a watch with issues. Nothing appealing in that example...
