Hard to tell from just one picture, but the dial looks correct for a '71, would need the serial # to confirm. The insert is also is a correct fat font red-back.
Great Color on the dial and insert looks amazing. What is the serial number? also do you have the engravings on the case back and movement shot?
Some crooked letters there. Open the case back and check the date. I've been seeing some near perfect mid cases.. that are no good. Careful out there!
Much better now! Signs of pitting between lugs, you will want to see the watch with the case back open to see if there is also pitting in that area, which would affect the water seal.. BUT if the price is right and you are not going diving with it... Giddy up!
As I put in another post, everything seems correct except the sphere and the bezel that are of service of the 70 'or 80'. but I could buy it for € 5,500. what do you think?
Ok, I went back to see the other thread. This is the 71 watch. While 5.5 Euros sounds low, it is still a bit rich for a watch in that condition (pitting). The plus side is it has the folded bracelet.. In the US that is about $6,500.. If you are planning on getting another insert and dial to make it period correct, I would pass on this deal and get one that is correct because of the case. Also wait until you get a picture of the movement and case back. The damage alone may shy you from buying it.. Good luck!
. See picture from the top - Rivet, folded and regular oyster link. Plus, the blade on the bracelet has the proper code 3/71. There is a few hundred dollars of value there..
Case back has a couple of nicks.. You'll have to consider a service into the price. What do you think? What do you want in the watch? Beater ?!
