This seems to be a pretty common occurrence... Insufficient pictures with a pie pan up for auction. -- No case back shots, no pictures of the movement as the seller isn't able or is uncomfortable accessing the movement. With that said, all signs point to a decent pie pan sub $1000...appears to be a 167.004 SS...albeit it's a gamble and the movement may be in poor condition with no pictures. Never reassuring with the seller saying is running "well." Any thoughts questioning the authenticity or if a gamble on this one is 'worth it?'
Daamn, the council has spoken! Nice score bro - I've been following your posts and am new to the Omega Vintage game myself, glad you found a nice Connie for an even nicer price!
Yeah, it's a bit tricky to find good ones and not settle for something you really don't want. It's taken a lot of time of research and hours to sort through a lot of them and educate myself as best I can on redials and excessive polishing. My advise is make sure you don't settle and hold out for one that you like and that you are confident in purchasing. Hoping after my initial adventure with my first few purchases, I can help contribute what knowledge I've gained.
Good Luck! My 25 cents worth of it is that it does not look like a dressed up bride...rather an honest well used Connie with original dial and hands. I would bet on it and especially if it is in any way possible to do some due diligence on the seller!
killer piece, if you haven't pulled the trigger already you can always ask the seller to time it and see the +/- over 24hrs
