So the watch isn't exactly dead however in my honest opinion it may as well be. Whoever did this deserves to be brought out back and well..... Let's not go there. This poor watch has endured an unspeakable horror and well I'll let the pictures do the talking. It was just so awful I had to share it.

    The price is hilarious

http://www.ebay.com/itm/OMEGA-SPEED...204?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35ebf39284Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network

Movement is 22M, case ref is 145.012-67 which doesn't fit, especially with the old style coupling brake. Looks more like a Speedmaster case someone bought for a few hundred coupled with a scrapped Seamaster movement and a few hundred in miscellaneous bits, trying to make a 6k profit on it.

You guys shouldn't talk about what you don't know. He knows what he's doing. He had it overhauled by the best German watchmaker.

Well he never said he sent it to Germany, he merely said that it was the best German watchmaker, could easily just be a German in Canada.

Question is, was it a real German watchmaker, or just a really efficient French Canadian with a sinus infection and a Volkswagen?

Not sure if this person serviced it, but there is a watch repair business in Vancouver (the seller is in Vernon, BC so not really that far away from Vancouver) called The German Watchmaker...

I wonder if he'd be kind enough to share his watchmakers info I've always hated the 105.003 I wonder if he could make it into a seamaster chrono.

His name is Norbert. And I understand he is legit. I've used him before when I lived in Vancouver. But that was more than 10 years ago now.

Again I have no idea if this is the guy that serviced this watch, but he does call himself the German watchmaker, so it might be him...

I wasn't in any way suggesting he wasn't "legit" but as we see here often, not every watchmaker understands the desires of collectors to keep watches as original as possible. Not to mention customers who want this swapped for that, etc., so even saying "it was the watchmaker" could be very wrong - he may just be doing what he was asked to do...

Trust me, I know how that goes.

    Cheers, Al

Oh, you mean a Porsche 912? That's the one that's Porsche on the outside and Beetle under the (rear) hood.

Before you start picking on the watchmaker, has occurred to anyone that whatever frankening that was done took place before that watchmaker got ahold of it? I rather not trash someone's reputation without knowing all the facts.

This is why you buy the seller, not the watch.
