I had not thought about this song in about 20 years...

It's weird thinking about a song that described the age I was when it came out and revisit it in middle age...

I may not have agreed with his politics, but the man had a voice and a presence that cannot be denied.

@gatorcpa a part of my youth is gone as well, even though we are different generations. I know people that only know him from Rocky Horror, and others from Fight Club who have no clue about his singing, or his time on Broadway... We all can only dream to have that kind of effect on people.

They say, “Never meet your heroes,” but I guess in the case of Meat Loaf, we have to make an exception.

Not but ten minutes ago, I finished a session with a patient who told d me she and a friend, who was suffering from breast cancer at the time, had backstage passes to see him at a concert eight years ago.

When they went to meet him, she said he couldn’t have been nicer and more empathetic to her friend, noting that someone in his family had battled the disease. She said, “He was extraordinary.”
I had a similar interaction. When Meatloaf was doing his shows in Vegas (which I hear were very well done) my buddy met him off stage and was surprised how decent, friendly and interactive he was as He lives and works in Vegas sees a lot of celebrities he says most are, well in his words “snooty” but that wasn’t his word he used a bad word I can’t repeat.
