Sad day indeed. You got to know when to hold 'em, Know when to fold 'em, Know when to walk away, And know when to run.
A friend in grade 7 came to school one day in Kenny Rogers-brand jeans. I thought that was weird, but I hear that his restaurants were pretty good. Kenny’s music was part of my childhood, like Cannonball Run and the Dukes of Hazzard. Thanks for bringing this sad news, and the trip down memory lane. I used to be quite into nostalgia, not so much lately, I miss those days.
When we had a Kenny Rogers Roasters here we used to go there pretty frequently. Always thought the food was good - corn bread and baked beans were particularly good, at least going from memory as that was probably 25 years ago now...maybe?
RIP. I cooked for him once, actually when I was head chef at a place in Sydney. It was back in the late 90's and I guess he was touring at the time. Fillet steak with Bearnaise sauce, rare, IIRC.
So sorry to hear. Love his music and have several albums on my iPod. I got to see him once on a Southwest flight. Thought he might be a doppelganger but a flight attendant passed him and I could read her lips, "Are you Kenny Rogers?". He nodded.
