On the news: https://www.washingtonpost.com/opin...ongress-held-her-back/?utm_term=.cf40aad3f9db "Geraldyn “Jerrie” Cobb has died. She died March 18 in Sun City Center, Fla., of Alzheimer’s disease. She was 88. Chances are you don’t know Jerrie Cobb’s name. But you would have. Were it not for sexism at NASA and Congress, Cobb would have been the first American woman in space." .
Truly a pioneer in early womens aviation. For anyone interested in Jerrie Cobb's story as well as the other 12 women that were considered for the early space program there is a terrific new Netflix documentary called Mercury 13 that I would encourage you to watch. All 13 of the women that were recuited for testing either preformed at the same level, or surpassed, the original Mercury 7 astronauts test results.
