    Hey Folks,

First of all I wish you all a happy new year :)

Maybe 2020 will be a good watch year for me?! Just today I could grab a nice Omega Calypso.

Unfortunety there isn’t the right bracelet on the watch. So I did some google research and it came up that I’ve found two different (?) bracelets for this watch - 1384 and 1389. Does anybody know which one is the right for this model?

Here is a pic of my model:

And here how it should look like in the future ;)

    Greetings

    Hi Concer,

Given that the Calypso is reference 396.0929 then due to my records the bracelet should be ref 1384/771.

But please don't ask where I got this information from. Just can't recall that :)

D5C47CC3-4B57-4AA1-B753-BC478757C786.jpeg This model also comes in two tone. Perhaps the two bracelet codes refer to the steel and two tone bracelets. Here is my two-tone.
the code on the clasp is 1384, with 771 on the end links.

Thank you guys. The watch has arrived meanwhile. I recognized that the bezel is not moveable. That’s not normal on this model isn’t it?

@guwipa: wow, that’s a crazy list! Very useful.

My bezel wouldn't move when I got mine either. I had to work away carefully with a razor blade around the edge until I could finally lift it off. be very careful not to damage the edge of the bezel.
There was a lot of dirt underneath. Now I've cleaned it out it operates as it should, but it's not the easiest bezel to get a grip on.

Now I think about it, I stripped down the case and put it in the ultrasonic with soapy water for a few rounds before I could get the bezel off.

So, got it off and cleaned it.

But even now it fits so tight I can’t move it. Suggestions? :(

It only moves anti-clockwise. You're not trying to push it clockwise are you?

No, but it doesn’t move in any direction.

Could be the spring isn't properly placed. A little silicone grease could help too.

How can I adjust the spring? I’ve tried silicone, but unfortunately it doesn’t help.

The amount that the spring flats protrude will affect how tight it is. I would make a point of removing the spring from the bezel and cleaning the groove in the bezel if you haven’t already done so. Some silicone grease in the drove where the spring sits can help also.

But check for burrs, as those can also cause a tight fitting bezel.

Thanks for the tip, but unfortunately it still doesn't work. Even if I let the spring out completely, the bezel turns very difficult. Never mind, I'm just leaving it now. My fingertips hurt from constantly removing the bezel

There has to be a reason, so there is something wrong with the bezel, or the surface it’s riding on...provided that this is the right bezel...

If the spring isn't the issue and you've tried some silicone grease to help things along, perhaps it's the click ball at 6 o'clock. If it is protruding too much or won't push down at all then perhaps your issue. I can't remember precisely how this worked, but I assume it's a ball with a spring behind it. If there's dirt behind the ball then that could be restricting its movement. Maybe give the ball a push with a toothpick to see if it has any travel.

    Hey tritto,

I’ve tested it. Unfortunately without success :( I really cant find out what’s the problem is. Could you be so nice and make a video while rotating the bezel of your calypso? It would be nice to see how „easy“ the bezel could be rotated.

    I can try, Concer.
It's perfectly moveable when rotating anticlockwise. Easier off the wrist than on though. That low profile bezel isn't easy to grip.
My vintage Seiko's with chunkier bezels are much better in this regard.
