Resurrecting my 22 (or so) year old Citizen

A gift from my wife nearly a quarter century ago. It has been sitting in a drawer for about 12 years. The eco drive just quit working one day and my watch wearing days went out the door for far too long. I know nothing of the repairability of these old eco drives, but it’s time to figure that out. Needs a light polish as well. I forgot how nice it wears. Anyone else repair their old eco drive? Love to have some insight if so.

A close-up view of the "JAPAN MOV'T" line of text at 6 o'clock would indicate the movement calibre. Could help focus the inquiry regarding serviceability.

Looks nice!

Some early Eco-Drive watches don’t have a removable case back to facilitate checking and/or replacing the capacitor. If you have one of those, the watch should go to Citizen. Do you know how to te-set the perpetual calendar when the watch operates again?

Removable caseback. I still have the manual to set the watch if it is put back into working condition.

I very much doubt that anyone ( including Citizen) will fix an obsolete watch such as this. Have someone fit a new capacitor (should still be available). If that doesn’t do it………….!

If he can get a flux capacitor, all he’ll need for time travel is a DeLorean.

And if I had both, I’d head back in time, take all my money and buy watches that have appreciated over the years at yesterday’s prices😉

Great watch! Integrated bracelet and 90`s style. I hope you could get it fixed. Maybe fit a newer movement?
