Good morning. anybody knows if is possible restore the handle (case) of omega if it is broke? is it perfect? thanks a lot!!!
Seems one lug is broken off. Take the watch to a watchmaker and have him remove the bracelet and the movement, case back, and crystal, and ask him if a/ if he can fix the case, or b/ if he can recommend someone who can. A few factors have to be taken into account. What the case is made of (you give absolutely no information), and the skill of the goldsmith you approach.
thanks a lot. yes, one lug is broken. it is that i need to fix. the movement is functioning perfectly. the case is made of steel. the watch is a vintage omega.
I know that Michael Carlson from Stockholm specialises in watch cases. Drop him a line. https://www.facebook.com/michaelcarlsonstockholm/ Send me a PM for his e-mail address.
I am not certain whether gold or silver solder will work with stainless steel. Goldsmiths don’t work with stainless steel, so whether or not you end up going that route is questionable. I wonder if laser welding would be a possibility. You’ll simply have to ask around.
