Hey all,

I want to restore as close to original my dad's 1965 ST 105.003 Caliber 321 movement 22082395.
Do I need to send it to Omega (and then take a trip there to pick up and keep the iridium bezel aspect?)
Anywhere in the US that does a great job?
Issues: works fine, but needs a good cleaning and adjustment, crystal scratched, sweep incorrect, case back incorrect. I already replaced the band with the period correct from Omega.

IIRC, the bezel and pushers are also incorrect. Maybe other things as well. So what are you looking to have done? Just service it, or total restoration with correct parts?

Not Omega. If you were in the UK I could suggest a watchmaker.

What work you have done is up to you but I would do the following;

Full movement service.
Case clean (but not polish).
Try and source a vintage DON bezel.
New service pushers.
Source a set of modern tear drop service hands and have them relumed to aged tritium effect.
Re-luming the dial is a judgement call. Personally I’d have it redone by someone like James Hyman but I see the argument for leaving it as is being a heirloom.
The bracelet is also a modern service item whic doesn’t go imo. I’d put it on a leather and see about sourcing a vintage 7912.

IMO, I wouldn't replace the bezel as it is also part of your father's heirloom, just take the whole off, and have it cleaned. Re-luming is also a tricky subject, as it might really be too new as compared with the rest of the watch.
