I have a Speedmaster bracelet that has lost some of its plating and needs work on the links. Does anyone know if the bracelets can be restored and replated and if so who does this type of work? Thanks.

I am away and can't get you pictures right now. But it is an 1171/1/633. The plating shows signs of a copper color coming through and some of the links are open and bent. I have some extra links. The links would need to be replaced or repaired if possible and the links and clasp need replating.

I too would need to se that! Speedmaster bracelet plated? Copper colour? Is the bracelet gold or steel colour? Links open and bent? It’s not an aftermarket bracelet of some kind is it?

So are you saying the silver coloured plating has worn to reveal a copper colour coming through, or was it gold plated?

The stainless bracelets are just stainless steel so no way for copper metal to show through.

Are you sure it's genuine? Has it been verified as such by an Omega tech or AD? No Speedmaster bracelet has ever been plated, as far as I know. As a general rule, plated metal is a sign of a fake in the luxury watch world.

Excellent questions. I'm from the car world and used to seeing plated parts and forgot that the bracelets are SS. It's probably plated and not worth the money to fix it. Thanks for your insights

Pictures as always would help, but generally speaking, almost everything is possible to fix, so depends only on money: it is important to know that the object you should try to take back to stainless steel original finish is original in all its parts..

    Cheers
