Hi,

When it comes to restoring old to vintage Omege's, should your try to find the original band or buckle that suited the watch.
Where would you be able to find exactly the right band or buckle with the appropriate case number. The movement is coming up as 1958, so I'm trying to find the best strap/buckle for it.

I love original vintage straps and buckles. Some are not fond of them because they are said to dry out, shrink, and not last for long. I have not had that experience and new old stock straps have suited me well and held up over time. Keep in mind my watches are in a rotation, and not work on a daily basis. There are many fake buckles on eBay and if your goal is genuine, I would read this thread About Omega Buckles. It shares a wealth of information. A few years a go Omega re-released the old 50s and 60s buckles. Also broaden your search to include imperial and metric strap sizes. They are out there but have been discontinued. Five years ago NOS omega straps sold on the cheap, but the prices and have been going up for a while now. There are a couple of other options available to you. Just search for NOS '50s and '60s straps/bands on eBay. There are plenty of great non-Omega straps to be had. For that watch I would recommend a 'padded' style strap. Beyond that, many manufactures make modern straps in the style of the older ones. From what I've read, they seem to be the preference of most members here. Anyway, welcome to the forum, and remember, pictures or it didn't happen.

original vintage straps and buckles…

I’m curious about the construction of this one. Is it at all convenient to show the back side?
