Restoration possible?

Hello all

I am rather new to this forum. Been reading but that’s all.
My name is John and I am from the Netherlands. A few months ago I bought my first Omega. A Planet Ocean. And I love it. I want more Omegas.
I bumped into this one.
I would like to buy it and getting it checked and restored where needed.
But as you can see the watch is missing a part of the red band on the dial. It’s not a picture issue. It’s really gone.
Is there something to do about it? Can it be restored? Can I buy a new dial for it somewhere? Or is it something else, not the dial?

Thanks for reacting.

Omega would have authentic service dials if you aren't too fussed about the dial being period correct. As for touching up the old dial, it would be difficult to get a decent restoration that would look ok.

I could be wrong, but I'm under the impression that Omega doesn't have these specific dials available. It would be interesting to somehow find out.

I'm not sure, to be honest. Last time I bought one was maybe 10 years ago and omega had them at the time.

Anyone with a parts account can easily check.

Ok thanks. But is it the dial? It looks like the red band lies underneath the dial.

Looks like the mineral crystal has some issues as well, but replacements are available as well from Omega.

It is not that bad. The seller has made a video and in there it looks ok.

You could also buy the watch (if all else looks good to you) and then look for a donor, this may be a lengthy process but they come up from time to time and in the meantime you will understand if the missing portion of line really bothers you or you accept it as part of your timepiece

best regards
