This has been on mine or Phil's work bench for something like the last 18 months. The strap that I collected today finally finished everything and, quite frankly, I love it!

So, what you're about to see is a 1926/27 Rolco/Rolex. Between tracking down the few parts it needed, I've tried to get solid information about the watch and failed quite miserably. There's nothing definitive but what I can be sure of is this:
The dial was originally signed Rolex;
The dial was re-signed as Rolco;
The movement is an Aegler/Rebberg movement that was made for Rolex and is signed as Rolex;
However, the movement is undecorated and 7, rather than 15, jewels;
Fearing a redial, I have checked fonts and found that the numerals are consistent with a Rolex font while the "Swiss Made" is consistent with a contemporary Unicor dial.

All told, my hours of reading have convinced me this is a very early, even prototype, Rolco. And here she is:
