Is the Ressence unique enough to qualify for this sub-forum?

it has a ROCS movement which Ressence itself claims is unique (albeit ETA based). Ressence describes it as “Aunique 3 dimensional in-house module for an intuitive reading of the Time.”

i find the crown-less case unique as well.

plus the winding mechanism through the caseback.

When I first saw the Ressence Type 1 I was enamoured, a very interesting and unique way of displaying the time. Unfortunately out of my price bracket, otherwise I'd probably have one in my collection.

Price is no object to our pal pongster. He is loaded. Those Manila collectors make us Cebu guys look small time! 😁

We’ve all got to make do with what we have, even if it means a lot!

Saying that though, curiosity got the better of me and I had a look on Chrono24. The price for them on the used market is much more reasonable than I was expecting. Temptations!

Reviving this thread to see if in the meantime, anybody splurged to add one of these watches to the stable and, if yes, to hear their comments.

This thread is missing pics, so here we go with a black-dialed Type 5:
Very cool. How long have you had the watch and can you tell us your impressions of it?

Sure thing!!

This is NOT my watch, although I am considering getting it.
Went to a local AD to check it out.
The Type 5 is Ressence's dive watch model and quite impressive at an initial 46mm diameter. As written in a number of articles, including on Monochrome, I must say that the watch wears very well. Short lugs and overall round shape makes it wear quite easily on my wrist.
It is in Ti, and although it was supposedly "light" at 87g (would have to double check if this is the spec for the type 5), I thought it had just the proper level of heft on the wrist as well.

Most important is the fact that this piece is really quite unusual in the world of watches from a design POV, and certainly in my collection that is essentially made of Speedys and "regular" dive watches. I really thought the watch is visually interesting and quite attractive. I am sure this would be a great conversation starter at any G2G.

I am going to mull over the purchase because it is indeed pricey... but no matter what, I am really glad I went to try it on.

Let me know if you have any other question.
