I'm now shopping around for a potential replacement for a Racing Red Speedmaster and so am heavily interested in the Tintin. In my constant searching I find one in Oregon but it was sold today for $7.5k, but oh wait, they updated their eBay listing for the same watch but jacked up the price to almost $20k.... https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/303339601993 Selling two watches, or is the buyer looking to find a sweeter deal??? I hope the guy in CA doesn't find out!
Took me a moment to understand what you were talking about: You are referring to this sale thread here on ΩF by @rbob99 Now there is a sales ad on eBay with the same pictures: Scam attempt maybe or a very low effort flip? Those photos can be snatched up pretty easily from the sale thread.
Guys, your questions are reasonable, but there was nothing nefarious going on here. The eBay listing is now gone, the OF sale is legit and all is well. And, as to who buys a Tintin for $20K, the answer is nobody, which was why it had that price. That's really all I want to say about this. Anybody who thinks they need to know more can PM me.
this will be the selling price of a good example full set in nos condition TINTIN in 10 years from now... maybe less keep this prediction...!
