Replacing a bezel on a PO 2500, where/how can I get one?

I would be extremely surprised if it was genuine. The minute hashes and the shape of the triangle are different from those you normally see. And the pip seems slightly offset.

Also, the ceramic part doesn't come separately from the steel bezel. Someone ordered an aftermarket inlay and crammed it into the steel bezel 🤦
Ughhh. Well on the plus side my local OB has the correct bezel and can install it for me.
I think we refer this as “the voice of reason”
It might help the thread if you (OP) disclose where you bought it from.
I got it from a guy on Reddit in the WatchExchange. He had plenty of good feedback. It came with the service slip from Omega as well as a couple parts in a small baggy that were replaced at the service.

That is one ugly bezel he sold you as a genuine one though.... I wouldn't be happy with the seller and i would have requested some money back.

Well I did get it at a pretty good price (likely because of that) so even including the cost of another bezel I’m still happy with it.

Just makes me wonder what else he wasn't honest with you about.

For sure. He sent pics of the bezel in a few angles so I knew what I was getting. Well, sorta. I’ll see what the OB says about it. I’m making the trek Monday to have it switched out since they have it in stock.

Just dropped it off at the OB in Houston. Definitely not a LiquidMetal bezel, it’s aftermarket and was held in with a lot of glue apparently lol. He installed a new bezel but it’s super tough to turn (because of glue residue) so he’s keeping it a few days to clean it, make sure it’s within chronometer specs, etc.

Even with this setback and adding in the cost of the bezel it’s still well under market value so I’m happy.

Glad they worked it out.. I remember seeing the for sale ad for your watch and thought the bezel swap looked off. I wonder if a 'real' LM bezel would be raised like the way yours was.

p.s. nice hat.

It's very straightforward if you know what you are doing, and have the proper tools. If you use an Omega certified watchmaker, they should be competent, and have the right tools, and they can get you the bezel. If you choose someone who isn't, then you have no idea what you will end up with.

Here is the bezel off a watch that was sent to me for repairs after the owner took it to another watchmaker for a "simple" bezel swap:

He not only bent the shit out of the bezel, but he severely damaged the case in the process of trying to pry the bezel off with a knife...so I guess it depends on how lucky you feel.

Cheers, Al
I did this to my 2500 PO swapping the battered bezel for a new one I had in my drawer for the past few years (when cousins still sold them at a normal price). I used one of the bezel removers where it is a clamp with 4 blades. The tool was cheap and I likely used it wrong as my Omega watchmaker showed the drawer of tools he uses and it is a completely different system. He said it is quite annoying that Omega make you buy the whole range of bezel removing tool sizes and he typically only uses a couple.
