Replacement tritium hands for a MkII

Are tritium hands originally designed for the 145.012 and 105.012 also appropriate replacements for the 145.014?
Also are any later 861 references, than the 145.014 appropriate?

thanks

The Mk II hands are a bit shorter than the pro hands, so they're not interchangeable. I actually bought a 145.022 fitted with what I believe are MkII hands in a long ago service, feel free to pm me if you think you could use them!

Hi again Ok I am bumping this thread to find out from the gurus what hands were originally on the 145.014 MkII? Were they shortened speedmaster pro hands specific and unique to the 145.014 and the 861 movement inside the MKII? Or were they a new generation of hands made for the 1040 Automatic movement and the same as on the later MKIII and MK IVs? thanks!

I am not sure of the answer to this but as stated the hands are shorter than the pro.

If you are in need of hands I have a set of new service hands for the MKII

1040 calibre movements have a larger hole so not the same as cal 321/861

I am pretty sure the tritium service hands fitted to my 105.012-65 in the 1970's are the type you describe in this thread. The minute and hour hand were too short to be correct for a 105.012-65 I've kept them along with the old incorrect service crown. I would be interested to know if that assumption is incorrect.

Thankyou @Dash1 . I've wondered what they are for a few years now. I'm pleased that I hung on to them, as they are part of the history of the watch.😀

Hello @lexieb007 . Sorry I missed your post for a couple of days. I've sent you a PM message regarding your question.

Well unfortunately I wasn't able to help @lexieb007. After more than 30 years together on my Dad's wrist, (and another 15 years with me) the old 1970's, Mk2 service hands deserve to stay in the case, with my old 105.012-65 Speedmaster. Along with the 1970's service crown and 1171/633 service bracelet, they've become a close but incorrect family.

If anyone can point @lexieb007 in the right direction for a set of tritium Mk2 Speedmaster hands, I think he would appreciate it.
(See original post above)

Having said that, it has got me interested in the difference between hand length of the Mk2 Omega Speedmaster and the slightly longer hands of models such as the 105.012-65.

@simonsays posted: "1040 calibre movements have a larger hole so not the same as cal 321/861.

So if the old service hand set (posted above in the red Omega case) on my 105.012-65 were correct for a Mk2 Speedmaster, I was wondering how they fitted my pre-moon 321?

Got the answer with this nice, informative article. (Best read with a cup of tea):

^Bump. Anyone like to help out an avid vintage watch collector? I don't have an Omega. I have my heart set on getting two classics. First up a classic Mk2. If I can get some, hopefully these hands will be destined for the @Tonyash Telestop. He has recently posted about the fantastic restore he did on that watch. Can anyone help me out here?!

The watch in question. After finding and restoring this Telestop I feel my part of its' story is done and dusted. Adam Lewis did a fantastic job reluming service hands to match the dial but Alex would like to take the watch to another level of originality. Having tried
to find a tritium set during the restoration I admire his perseverance.
