Hello, I have an Omega Aqua Terra and I was looking to change the metal bracelet for a leather strap with deployment clasp. I have measured the lugs at 21mm, which greatly reduces the choice of strap. Maybe daft question but anyone have a view on using a 20mm width on a watch, would it make that much difference could you say?

You can see when a strap is 1mm to narrow as I have seen in multiple photos. I don't have any real experience with under/ oversized bands so I can't chime in if it's better to go undersized or oversized.

There are plenty of custom options that are affordable, or just go OEM

    Hi @colourbounce

Wait a minute [emoji54] Are you referring to the AT Cal 8500 Co Ax ?

The 38.5 mm casing has a lug width of

    [emoji637] [emoji645] mm

The 41.5 mm casing has a lug width of

    [emoji638] [emoji646] mm

I had a similiar experience & thought it was 21 using my plastic ruler ( Use the calipers next time ! ) but it's actually 20 mm

Thank you, it is a 41.5 and the plastic rule says 21mm . Some great looking straps out there, I just think it needs a break from all the metal going on.

Although not an AT I had the same problem with my Seamaster 300MCA. 21mm is an odd size and as 20mm straps made a non OCD person develop OCD because of the noticeable gap I just opted to fit 22mm straps with no problem. Certain styles would look to squished, but for the most part it wasn't bad at all. I found more issues trying to find curved ends to match the casing. Just my .02 cents =)

Maiking strap myself I can give you a trick, just take a 22mm and 'polish' the edge of the strap where the spring bar in introduce.
the leather is really easy to modulate. I use this to polish :
