    Hi all,

I got a vintage Omega Seamaster but the rotating bezel paint has been totally lost which is a common symptom in vintage Seasmaster.

Any idea who except Aldo can help and repair it perfectly or what kind of paint should it be cos I do hope to restore this black paint by myself instead.

Let me know who has the experiences about restoring the bezel.

    Regards,

    HL

It's one thing to paint the bezel black, its another thing to restore it. The numbers, especially the 4, have a very distinctive font, and I have not yet found decals that are appropriate. I looked into having number decals made, but for all of the hassle involved I decided to just send it to Aldo. He takes a while but does great work. Is there any reason that you don't want to send it to him? I don't know of anyone else that does this work.

There is only one way to restore the bezel and that is to send it and a load of money to Aldo and then wait a year for him to grow you a new one.

    Hi,

Actually I have no issue for sending bezel to Aldo for restoration while wonder anyone know the process? What kind of black paint?

As for 2913-8 SM300, should the number counting forward or backward (Count down)?

    Many thanks!

Many thanks for the picture while I noticed that the winding crown is thinner in thickness as well. Is it a legit correct sample? Is it an Aldo bezel?

    Many thanks!

No, that's an all correct and original bezel....not a redone one.
The crown is a correct flat footed one ....just very worn... the old SM300 crowns are not so deep as the replacement ones often seen. Diameter is about the same.

All SM300's have bidirectional turning bezels, also the 2913.

    Hi,

my seller told me that original 2913-8 should not have turning bezel and he sent me the watch with fixed bezel that does not turn in either direction.

can i have more info about this topic?

    many thanks

    What information do you need?
If the bezel doesn't turn, it's either fully grown with dirt and need to be cleaned underneath it... or the seller have "glued" it on.
Here's one of mine without the bezel mounted. It's hold on by a friction spring inside the bezel and turn's/clicks over the springloaded ruby balls on the case.
Either way, this seller is telling you ::censored::

Need pictures posted here of your watch, before further help.

A dive watch without a rotating bezel is like a bacon sandwich without the bread - it's just a watch/rasher of bacon. The whole purpose of the bezel is to rotate it so that you can see, at a glance, how long you have been down. Otherwise you would have to remember the exact time you dived.

    Hi Stewart,

I am in APAC region and in SG and HK back and forth, but there is no geographical limitation as long as the watch marker you recommend is a decent vintage Omega watch specialist.

    Many thanks!
