Repair Recommendation Please

Hi All,

I'm new to the forum. I've had a Speedy Pro since 2010, a Seamaster Bond since 2001 and a DeVille Quartz dress watch since before that. My dad recently passed away and I've inherited some of his watches including a Seamaster Chrono/Date Reference #213.30.42.40.01.001 (Caliber 1164). That watch needs repair. The date function, minute and hour hand don't keep time (although the seconds hand seems to do so , and the chrono function works).

I'm looking for repair recommendations for that. As well as someone to build a relationship with for CLA/Servicing my modest collection on a schedule.

Many thanks,
Tom

Hi All,

Sorry for missing that crucial piece: I’m in the U.S., in New Jersey. I could drive to either Philadelphia or New York City.

I'd probably send it out to Omega, through one of the Boutiques. I'm certain there's one in NYC, and I know there's also one in King of Prussia, PA. You can find information on Boutique locations, as well as standard prices for service, on the Omega website.

If you'd rather send it to an independent Omega-certified watchmaker for repair, we have our own friend @Archer on the Forum here - super knowledgeable. He's in Canada, but he may be able and willing to accept a repair request.

There’s a great Omega Boutique at the Short Hills Mall. Artur there is an ace, and they’re all WIS types. Most are even collectors.

Spoke with Artur, he told me that they wouldn't be able to handle this kind of repair in the boutique, but would send off to Omega's Factory Service Center.

Yes, you can build a relationship with a boutique...that is what the boutiques exist for. There is Short Hills as you mentioned, Hackensack at the Riverside Mall or White Plains NY in the Westchester Mall if you don't want to deal with 5th avenue or Brookfield in Manhattan.

Keep in mind that Omega does not sell parts to jewelers or anyone for that matter so if you want your watch(s) rebuilt with new OEM Omega parts it will only happen through a boutique who will send it to Seattle where Omega's technicians reside(AD's will send your watch there as well)

This is completely false. Watchmakers who have gone through a qualification process have access to parts directly from Omega.

I order hundreds of parts a year for Omega watches directly from Swatch group.

Cheers, Al

+1 for TM Watch. Bought watches from them and had another serviced/refinished. Great work!
