Hello, I have a vintage Seamaster 600 that needs to be repaired to working condition. I also want the dial cleaned (but not repainted) and its indexes re-lumed. I have some questions:

1: Could someone please recommend a shop/person that can do both? I'm in the San Francisco Bay Area.
2: If the repair and the dial should be done separately, in what order should they be done?
3: What's the story with this crown? If it's not original, what is the correct crown?
    4: What year is it?

Thanks in advance, and my apologies if I broke protocol by asking questions that have already been answered. Here's the watch in question:

I can't help with finding a watchmaker but some of our US members surely can.

If it was my watch I would:

    Get the movement serviced.
Replace the crown with a correct item.
Have the case cleaned and some parts lightly polished, but not POLISHED.
Get the hour/minute/second hands replaced with the correct items.
    Fit a new/correct Omega crystal.
Have the dial cleaned by an expert (lightly dusted, nothing else) and leave the lume plots as they are.

These models are becoming rarer by the day and any attempt to clean/re-lume the dial could end badly.

Is it something specific about this 600 or is it all 600s that are rare

Specifically these ones with the "technical" dial.

Normal, silver dial 600's are one of the most common vintage Omegas.

The Technic dials are much rarer and ore sought after b

And pick your expert VERY carefully! You only get one chance and if he spoils it, it's goodbye dial.

LA Watchworks and ABC Watchwerks are both in California and do watch restorations (not sure if they work on vintage pieces)
