I was looking back at my Photobucket account today and notice how far my watch photography skills have come over the years and how bad they were in the beginning. I joined Paneristi in October 2006, and quickly opened up a Photobucket account to save my first watch picture to post on the forum. 88 pages of watch photos later I found my first watch photo back on page 1. Here is my long gone Panerai sitting on a paisley table cloth. I think at the time I was going all artistic with the black and tan strap matching the Black and Tan beer. Do you still have your first picture you ever posted on a watch forum?
The first? Geezus, that would be on TZ over a decade ago. I don't even remember what watch was the subject.
It's quite a few years ago, but I think this was my first, on WUS If I remember correctly, it got a like from Ulack someone.
The first? I posted this pic of my beloved Seiko 6309-7049 with boxes and papers at the Seikoholics.com forum on 31DEC14. EDIT: Posted on 04JAN15...not 31DEC14.
I think we can unequivocally rule out a Speedmaster. However, there's a small chance it could have been a battery powered assault on horology.
Boy have you come out of your shell since that picture my friend. We have seen fancy dress, Lycra ,Hooters shots and all out Mad Dog style.
This was my first, taken shortly after receiving the watch as a gift from Mrs. Jones. It was my first really nice watch and wearing it made me feel like I was walking on clouds. Still does The photo was straight out of my cell phone. These days I do a fair amount of post-processing in Photoshop before uploading (and I've also learned how to better obscure my bony wrist).
In January 2011 joined WUS when I stumbled upon the site doing research on my then already decade old TAG after the bracelet broke, Jorg Hysek designed the bracelet with 255 pieces, two of which broke on me rendering it unwearable Posted this crappy cellphone pic asking for help replacing the bracelet, sadly at the time of $2000 per ounce gold a replacement bracelet was more than the watch cost new! Eventually I found a link for sale on ebay but got sucked into the hobby as a result . . .
My very first watch post was actually here . I joined this site a month before I joined WUS (I don't even bother going there any longer). First Omega, and paid the newb tax. Worked out fine as I needed to use parts from this watch to repair another, so, in the end, newb tax repaid.
My first post on a forum was on TZ in the mid-2000's. But the Führer during that period banned me and I cannot remember why.
