I am a little suspicious about one of these and would like the opinion of the forum. Examples are labelled A, B, C and D. What is the consensus? Is one or both original or re-lumes.

    Please post your opinions ...

for me the first one (A and B) is original, the second one probably as well but simply less well preserved (but I am a little less sure).
Never the less if they are relumes they are excellent jobs, for some reason I am not that much concerned with very well executed relumes, if they are done in an excellent way and faithful to the original. I much prefer an excellent relume to a badly aged tritium/radium. But this is clearly my own opinion.

I agree with you. My opinion is that a very well executed relume, with the right color and shape, does not have effect on the value of the watch, for small lume plots.

It's a different problem when all the numbers or hands are relumed, because the shape can't be exactly the same os original.

C seems to be relumed to me

I agree with both of the responses.

Albeit good, I think the relume is A and B. Here is a shot of 12 o'clock markers.

UG's lume of dials was very conservative. Lume was not applied by hand, it was applied with a cliche. The result is a very subtle and even lume. Here is an original dial :

The lume shape is a perfect square. Sample A and B, looks to be bulging or too much and does not follow the contour of the hour index. I am probably picking nits as they are both excellent ... trying to kill time !

What's the furthest you've flown in your plane? Assume the EU has made it easier to "hopscotch" from field to field?
