    That looks way clean... only plank dials I've seen thus far have been badly shagged out

    Well, it's a refinished dial - but a good looking one. They did a nice job on the minute/second track.

    How did it transform from a plank dial to a regular dial? :p All of these are great examples. :)

    The Ref. 2517 is unusual, but not rare. You are seeing two different watches, of course.

    Just a master of the obvious, I suppose.

    Gator was saying the plank dial watch he posted was how the dial of the OP's watch looked like prior to repainting.
