Hey guys,

Another of my watches up for grabs.

This one is a very special example, because the dial is quite a rare one. I have only seen 3 examples. One of which sits in the "Omega Enthusiasts" personal collection. It is very unusual and beautiful 30T2 from 1944 but I find myself reaching for some of my other watches rather than this one so that is why I am offering it to you today.

Dial: As you can see this 77 year old dial is in remarkable shape. It has an even patina, with no significant damage. It has yellowed a little over its lifetime and this is nicely complimented by the orange / bronze minute track and numerals. It is of course the numerals that make this piece particularly interesting, they have a certain Art Nouveau quality about them with curved lines rather than the usual Art Deco examples we see. Of course ordained with the "fab Suisse" wording below Omega, we can deduce that this watch was sold in France, and makes for a beautiful presentation that just feels complete in design and purpose. The hands are original and are a copper tone plume hand design, which are a much more rarer hand type than the usual leaf hands we see on most 30T2s from this period. If I recall this was the very first Omega with plume hands that I purchased. I love them so much I have since bought another 3!

Case: Like the dial, the case is in nice shape for it's age. It doesn't appear to be polished and retains the chamfers and sharp edges we like to see. I do believe the crown is possibly a replacement but if it indeed is, it is a well fitting example, suitable for the era. The crystal appears to have a hairline crack at 12 O'Clock, it never bothered me so I didn't bother changing it.

Movement: I've owned the watch for about 9 months and it is running strong. When I bought it there was a slight issue with the balance as the regulator would not work when adjusted and the watch was gaining time. After sending it to "thewatchguy" he adjusted the hairspring and now it is keeping good time. I did not however have it serviced, so I would recommend that the buyer has the watch serviced to ensure it's longevity and reliability for the future.

Strap: This case fits 18mm wide straps and will be supplied on a genuine leather strap from my collection of the winners choosing. The pictured strap will not be included.

Box/papers: No box or papers.

Please observe all photos and the description with care as I offer no returns.
