Hi all, Due to a recent unexpected purchase, I will be selling a few watches I had planned on keeping. First up is a beautiful Ingenieur 666AD with pie pan dial. If you are not familiar with this watch, there is a great article about it's history and importance here: https://www.frizzellweb.com/larry/ingenieur/#History . The watch I am selling has one of the nicest dials I have seen on a 666AD. Most of these soft iron dials tended to age quit poorly. There is a small blemish between 9 and 10, which only stands out at certain angles. All of the original radium dots are present on the dial. The hands are original with radium lume. The crystal and crown (older style fish) are also original. The top of the case and caseback have had a polish at some point, but the original factory brushing remains on the sides. The case is 36.5mm and wears quite nicely due to the case proportions and height. The cal 8531 movement was serviced in Dec 2019 by an authorized IWC watchmaker in the United States with 1 year guarantee. Proof of service/invoice will be provided to the buyer. The all-important anti-magnetic cap is present and the watch is running perfectly. The case number is clearly visible between the lugs. According to the database, this watch was produced in 1961/1962. Please note, the watch will be sold on strap. The bracelet in the photos is a later IWC bracelet that I purchased separately and will be using for another watch. For this watch, I am asking $4000-->$3750. A recent comparable listing on the forum sold for a bit more without benefit of a service. International deals are welcome and Transferwise / wire is preferred for those. Shipping will be free in the United States and reduced by a comparable amount for international deals. I have lots of positive feedback in the Seller Profile section here. Returns only if the watch is somehow misrepresented. Happy to answer any questions and provide additional photos! Thanks OF.
One of the most beautiful pie pan Ingenieur dials I've seen. You could hunt for a few years and not find one this nice. Can't believe it's still here.
Had some people asking about the service information. I have attached a photo with personal information covered:
I'm very surprised that this 666 is still available. A nice example of a desirable variation, in my view, a very fair price, and Jack (the watchmaker) does excellent work.
