·I am selling a few pieces from my personal collection that unfortunately don't get enough wrist time. For your consideration is a vintage 1967 All black bezel, Swiss Accutron Astronaut GMT with JB Champion bracelet. The watch is in excellent condition and was purchased from and has been recently fully serviced & overhauled by Bob Piker (mybob.net) an Accutron specialist that Bulova refers their vintage customers to. The movement has been phased to run on a modern battery, and is keeping excellent time. The essentially means adjusting the movement to work with a new battery vs. mercury battery. No changes or modifications to the movement, aside from adjustments and timing by a skilled professional.
Bulova’s Accutron watches, appeared in 1960. The tuning fork was powered by a one transistor electronic oscillator circuit. Instead of the ticking sound made by mechanical watches, the Accutron has a faint, high pitch hum which came from the vibrating tuning fork. The Accutron was guaranteed to be accurate to a minute per month, or 2 seconds per day, considerably better than mechanical watches of the time and was used by NASA in the X-15 & space pograms.

Bulova 214 caliber - Freq 360Hz (cleaned, oiled, timed and phased to operate on a current battery)
Genuine black dial signed Bulova Accutron Astronaut with original lume in tact that has turned to a creamy yellow.
Diameter: 38 mm
Thickness: 14 mm
No crown (time setting on the back of the watch)
Bi-directional acrylic bezel in in excellent shape. There is one small split at 9 hash-mark that is almost unnoticeable.
Stainless steel back numbered (57216 / M7*)
