Hello up for sale is a circa 1963 Rolex Oysterdate Precision 6694, with an excellent condition case, measuring 34mm. It’s been polished in the past, but the case retains fat lugs and very attractive lines. A Strapsco 19mm leather quick release strap is included in the sale. 1.02X.XXX Serial and writings between lugs are crisp and clear (caseback stamped 6694 II.66). Black date wheel functions properly and is centered in dial window.

At some point, the dial was professionally refinished, but it was a well done job nonetheless. The overall excellent quality of the work contrasts some obvious “errors” (too late for “Swiss” only designation, irregular chapter ring, etc). This watch just looks great in person. I’ve included a lot of photos at many angles and lighting.

This manual wind watch winds and runs, but service history is unknown. The acrylic crystal has surface scuffs and a nick on surface in 10 o’clock area of the crystal (as seen in the photos, crystal marks are evident in the in-sunlight photos, but not very visible in indoor light).

Sale is for watch only, no boxes or papers. Given the lack of service history and refinished dial, I am asking $2100 for this watch but I’ll include FedEx USA shipping at this price (or intl buyers- a partial credit for your choice of carrier/method of international shipping). Zelle or PayPal etc (no fees to me please) is ok for known members, or friends of known members. Otherwise, wire transfer please.

I will accept a refund from USA buyers within 3 days if you don’t like the watch (buyer returns at his risk/expense). I’ll refund upon my receipt of the watch in the exact condition in which it was sent to you. Due to customs complexities, overseas sales are final.

Thanks for looking, if you have any questions or requests, please PM me or email: ccrolex at hotmail dot com

I have references from years of buying and selling here on OF, at TRF, VRF, and eBay (100% rating). Please feel free to ask, as I might do the same.

Best regards
Robby

Actually, I don't think it's too late for SWISS only. This was a time of transition. To me the dial looks original. Printing wasn't always perfect in this era. Nice watch and GLWTS.

Thanks for the comment, and I share your thoughts. I was/am torn by it; in-hand it looks too good to me for a redial. But I can’t find any more like it after scouring the internet.

I had photos reviewed by some fellow vintage Rolex guys and the consensus was “redone”, so I’m calling it redone (to err on side of caution) but hopefully providing the buyer with enough photos to make his/her own evaluation.

I agree that it’s most likely a high quality, perhaps older, redial, and that Swiss only looks appropriate. I heard an interesting podcast recently arguing, among other *very important* vintage watch issues, that high quality redials should be considered collectible, as part of the history and art of watchmaking. Nice price too. GLWS!
