··Mrs Nataf's Other SonIs the 146 an in-house caliber?
Yes, at the time that this watch was made. In 1960, Zenith had acquired Martel, the manufacture that made Universal Geneve's chronograph movements, turning the former Universal Geneve base chronograph caliber into the Zenith 146 (and acquiring some serious chronograph know-how which ultimately bore fruit in the Primero, and forcing Universal to turn to the Valjoux 72 for all those lovely late Compaxes and Space Compaxes - thus are the stories of UG and Zenith inextricably intertwined ). The 146 remained Zenith's work-horse chronograph movement until 1969, and even a bit beyond.
