Beauty, but over $11,000 for an A386? I feel like we are in a vintage watch bubble, like a stock market bubble or housing bubble.

Seller's just testing the waters. It's been up for sale in the past.

As for a bubble, I have the same feeling. Prices have gone up very quickly in the last six months on a fairly broad front. Time will tell.

I think the Zenith bubble has to get bigger before it pops. New Zenith book and museum coming... extracts now available from the archives... I think the time is ripe for a Zenith-themed auction - maybe to celebrate the sesquicentennial next year. The Zen-o-Mania bubble will be the real bubble, if/when it happens.

Any of you Zenith crew have an extract? Might be worth creating a thread showing what you get for your 120 euro and how to order one


I will be experimenting with the extract service soon, and will report back on the process and results. I'll give them something difficult, to really put this service to the test.

I have no doubt a few of you guys could really stump them, no doubt the set the price at 120 Euro in case LouS or someone faxed them a spreadsheet 😀

Truth is, there are a few guys who post here who should probably be offered a consulting gig as an "historian" for a few of these watch names.

there are a more than a few people who post here who I guarantee know more about these watches than any person working for the respective company:

Zenith
Universal Geneve

Bubbles can also pop through rapid drop in demand too, and vintage watches are not apartments. NYers need someplace to live, which helps steady the real estate market.

Can't judge the first two because of my lack of knowledge - but then I saw the third and said "holy fecking shee-yat!" to myself. I guess if a beater version of that can fetch $2400, why not shoot for poker chip money for a nice one? 😜

they are all original, in more or less decent shape, but if all Zeniths were priced like that, I'd be collecting springbars.
