    Hi All

    Good afternoon all.

I wondered if any UK/EU members can recommend a seller of Vintage Seikos please? I'm keen on Pogue's/Kakume's etc. but a lot of what I'm seeing on eBay are either beaten to bits or look like they're "godzillasteins", re/constructed from a lot of new replacement parts.

As always your input is gratefully received.

    Thanks

    Nathan

"Jeffrey" on SCWF always offers truly authentic and fairly priced vintage Seikos.

My pleasure, Nathan. In the spirit of full disclosure, I have given him a WTB order for a specific model of vintage Seiko. So, clearly I am following my own advice. Good luck in your search.

I have bought and sold vintage Seikos from the Private Watch Sales forum here on OF... I think you'll find few, if any, blatant ripoff merchants on here :)

    +1

Looking for a kakume for quite some time now and all I can find are frankensteined watches with aftermarket dials/bezels/hands etc.

I haven't personally done any business with him, but Hickmann Watches seems to be a recommended seller by many: http://hickman-watches.com

Not many watches for sale at the moment, but he seems quite active also on Instagram (@hickmanwatches), so it's possible some watches get sold even before they hit the site.

Otherwise it can be quite hard finding a dealer that would be a good source for vintage Seiko chronographs in particular. It seems that most dealers that specialise in them, sell mostly complete frankensteins without mentioning they contain mostly aftermarket parts. So even if one of them would be selling something that looks ok in the pics, I wouldn't trust them because you just know the watch could be a complete mismatch of parts.

I usually just buy stuff from Yahoo Japan and assume they might need a service immediately. :D
