Ended up going for $660 so not cheap but looked in great condition. I put a low ball bid early but didn’t hang around. Any of you guys get it?
$660?? Wow.

That would be a nice dress watch.
I would think it would go for 666.

I'm sure that is what the guy bid.

Probably on a lark, thinking he wouldn't get it.

(PS, it wasn't me...)

Ok so I bought two in the past 24 hours and almost got 3. The first one was listed as an "anthil" watch:

It's really an Anphil:

All stainless, 17 jewel Le Jour movement. $43 shipped.

Second one I bought:

Now I've made my qualifications for purchase here pretty plain before - has to be 35mm or larger, and a stainless case. Pretty sure this fails on both counts. And that's not an actual Tropic vintage strap either. So what gives?

So yeah, on this one I rolled the dice because of the buckle. I'm absolutely no expert on these, but it does appear to be genuine based on some previous ebay sales, and seems to sell for around 6x what I paid for the watch, which was $44 shipped. It likely will go back on the 'bay to finance other purchases.

The third one I missed out on because it had a really early end time, and I just missed it this morning. It's a nice linen dial all stainless Waltham that sold for $28:

And since this is supposed to be recommended good deals, here's one - to be honest I really don't know if this is a good deal or not, but I had watched it and the seller offered me a BIN of $255. I'm not going to get it, but thought that someone else here may be interested:

The Anphil is pretty- a nice classic.
We need to see the underside of the Tropic. Looks like they are squeezing a 20mm into 18 lugs. If that is actually a real 20mm tropic, you did very well, even if the Rolex clasp isn't legit- for which I am not expert so wouldn't know.
Since the Swiss tropic on a Sub (20mm) seems to be a fairly classic combo, it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility of a watchmaker installing a bracelet in a sub and throwing the tropic into a box, the years later someone comes in with a cheap diver and asks if they have an appropriate strap for it.

The seller also notes that "all offers are considered". So might worth a shot, taking into account the $200-300 service required!

It's definitely not a real Tropic - and it's parts of two different straps, which the seller called out in their description - one side marked 1820 and the other marked 1691. I'm basing my guess that the Rolex buckle is real on this completed auction:

Well, keep the tropic as you never know if you're gonna find the other halves. I got a short tropic on one watch and a long tropic on another- neither I could wear....but I've swapped the halves and guess what!! And they both even line up under the wrist properly.

19mm but it's attached to a much too overpriced chrome Diver to be worthwhile... But thanks

I'm fighting myself not to just grab this so somebody do me a favour and remove the temptation....

35mm without crown, stainless case and clean looking movement. What isn't to like for 50 squids.

Last one from me, really well priced hummer(tuning fork) for a fully working(Inc. day and date, unusual for a seller to confirm this, actually they say it's been recently serviced) nice condition one. At least for now there is a BIN, not sure if that will go once somebody bids.

In the description ".it has had a full stripdown service and running well on the new 1.5 volt battery." If this is true, and the service was done by a competent watchmaker the watch is free. 140GBP is a very fair price for the service!
