For those who secretly love the Bulova Devil diver but fear the daring red and black bezel would draw the attention of too many people, causing them to throw themselves at your feet and worship your sexual prowess- you are in luck.
In the US we only got the massive 44mm reissue followed by the blue/yellow and green- also in the same massive 44mm case. But the Asian (and possibly EU) market got a more classically sized 41mm (same as the original) with solid black or solid red bezel- this is one of them.

A classic piece of revenge from one of the most bitter smack-backs in horological history. For those that don’t know the story- in brief, Willy Monnier (then CEO of Tag/Heuer) had a falling out with Tag and went to zodiac introducing the “point” or dot series (Red dot, silver dot & gold dot).

These were pretty much strait clones of some of Tag’s most popular designs (include the use of Jacques Monin cases on several) and became wildly popular, no doubt stealing business away from Tag at the time. There were several gems in the line-up that deviated enough to be their own and have become iconic among collectors (I have a couple and love them).

Below is one of those icons- 42mm Monin case with those fabulous chamfered lugs, fully lumed dial with black contrasting hands and a splash of color in the form of the red dot between 4&5 as all red dot watches had. This one is the quartz model (like cocaine, it was the early 90’s- everyone was doing it) and although there was an automatic version it is so rare I have only ever seen one (belonging to a member here). The benefit of this being the quartz is despite it being 42mm across, it is incredibly slim for a diver and with its short lugs, it hugs the wrist.

The photos aren’t great but it looks to be in exceptional condition. If you haven’t guessed, I’m a fan of this watch- for good reason, I own one.

And so does my wife

Cool watch, very similar to the Heuer Night Diver which used the same case AFAIK. (photo from Justin @ https://www.tag1000diver.com/ )

Speaking of night divers…an automatic!
Yup, that’s the one. But realize yours is the Heuer, I know someone here has the zodiac auto but can’t remember who

This is a franken with some useful parts in it that could probably also just be sorted and worn, not good enough for the omega recommended thread but there’s some value if it stays cheap for you trash-pandas

That’s for knocking on the side of the dumpster, Ash! That could be good looking with a clean up and new crystal.

This one with a few caveats--the case has had a bit of polishing, but these BWC (Buttes Watch Company) chronos with the Singer dials are nice pieces, and are starting to take off in terms of value (the Valjoux 77xx ones are going for 1000+ on ebay)--not without reason, as they're all steel, solidly built and nicely designed. This one, with a Landeron movement, can probably be gotten for well less than asking, and the blue dial with contrasting white tachy and red sweep makes an attractive combination.
Recent price drop on this one (offer of 400 euros, so could probably be had for 300-350).

One almost never sees these rare Caravelle Sea Hunter 665-1s with the ETA 2472 movements for under 1200 these days, and never in such excellent condition. The buyer is asking Euros 899, so I would imagine one could get it for 750-800 at worst. If I didn't already have the "full set" of Sea Hunters, I'd be all over this one!

Lightly used Sinn 556 I RS (red seconds hand) in great condition. The photos don’t show but this watch has a very nice looking gloss black dial and the size is perfect at 38.5mm.

I love thé hands on this Elgin. I had an Elgin de Luxe I took off my wrist to give it to a girlfriend who likes it. Even with my thin wrist it made me a bit selfconscious. Those hands were black with a salmon dial. Kinda skyscrapey look

These LeJour chronos are cool and sturdy, with a reliable and easy to service Valjoux 7750 movement. This one runs and seller accepts offers. Perhaps a nice deal to be made.
