In the beginning I offered $100, but then I said I can meet his price. I guess he does not want to ship abroad, but that is not a nice way to respond.

I don't want to speak for @rbob99 but would like to speak up in his defense. The private sales forum is for members to buy and sell watches. Unlike ebay there are really no safeguards for the buyer or seller, only our word. You have been a member for less than a week, so there is no established credibility. I could completely understand @rbob99's perspective. Also, it is very easy to misread tone in text correspondence. So you may have perceived rudeness where none was intended.

What is the danger when paying in advance? He just does not want to sell to me maybe because he has to ship abroad, but he could be nicer about it!

I was not privy to the whole conversation, so I don't want to speculate. I'm not taking sides, just suggesting it may be a misunderstanding. Hopefully you got the ebay watch, so none of this really matters. If so, congrats!

Mid-1950s 10kGF bumper automatic Tissot Seastar - starting bid is $95, 10-day auction. Some light dial patina at 3 and 4 indicates possible moisture intrusion, but otherwise the dial, with its 'deluxe' markers, looks ok. Crown is original; the seals have long since perished. US cased watch with minimal wear. Dauphine hands look like they have been relumed in the distant past. This survivor deserves a full service and a soft brown calfskin strap.

Lots of folks following this thread collect vintage Tissot from the late 1960s and 70s, so here's the ultimate option for those of you with PR516 models and rally straps...the rare steering wheel clock:

OK, so at €390 it may not be a good value, but if you've already got the watch and gloves, this is a bargain! 😎

YES!! $2.00 less than asking!

Thank you @JwRosenthal for bringing this to my attention, and thank you @Nepomuceño for accepting my low ball offer for a sweet piece!!

Jokes on you. The largest prime factor of 148 is 37, while the largest prime factor of 150 is 5. That decrease of $2 in price lead to a more than sixfold increase in the largest prime factor!
