However I believe it violates this thread’s rules unless the watch is now offered to us for the same price (hint hint).

This one's a bit more expensive, but tremendously attractive. Apparently serviced as well. Hope someone here gets it so we can see even more pics!

The first rule of the "Recommended Good Value / Vintage - New Deals On EBAY & other Auctions" thread is: There are no rules.
Weeeeellll, I could come up with a few. 😗

To each their own, but the hour hand points to the minute track and the minute hand points to the hour track.

Not sure what you mean, there is no minute track as such, the dial has no minute indices.
There's the Roman numeral 1-12 hour markers and the inside track is a military styled 24 hour continuation.

Personally I don't care for the dial either, but it could grow on you. If its an original dial that is.

::facepalm1::

I read the military track 13-24 as 0-60. My phone is small and my eyes are old.

A bit of an oddity that I don’t know what to make of-
Elgin Sportsman in gold plated case with Florentine bezel and hooded lugs. Very fancy case for what is normally a very modest line from Elgin. Dial and hands look great, lume looks excellent- plating in case has some wear...but I don’t know if this dial came in this case. Regardless, for $40, it’s an interesting watch.

OF Bargain alert:

Paul (aka @WhatYourWatchSay ) brings us a sweet Candino in all stainless with ETA movement and lovely looking dial. Case has lug holes which is a huge plus for strap changes and it’s a good size at 34mm (lots of dial on this one). Hate to say this about an OF brother- but the pics suck, this is probably a real looker in the flesh. Get the looks of a Seamaster for 1/6 the price.

Seems the 60’s Seiko’s are popping up like daisies lately:
Seiko Sportmatic- looks to be in nice shape, a couple of small specks on the dial. 36mm so a nice size for the form factor. Seller has make offer.

Wyler at $45. Has some problems with the crystal but the dial is appealing. https://www.ebay.com/itm/114730936748
It’s a very attractive watch. An important note on the Wyler Unicase designs, the crystals are proprietary and generics won’t work- they have a lip that goes under the retaining ring (under the bezel) which is part of the waterproofing system. Wyler crystals are pretty abundant on eBay, but you have to know which model to get for each case- which seems to be a total mystery as I can find a comprehensive cross reference guide.

For the cost of a strap that’s not a bad looking piece, I just wonder at that end of the market do you wear it until it stops or is there any point in servicing them given you won’t get your money back?

Depends on how much you love it. I have some I just wear and when they stop, then I decide if they are worth servicing. I have others I paid very little for but love them and paid for service despite knowing it was not money I would ever recoup...but that’s not why we love watches, now is it.
