I have a feeling it may either go for more if it gets bid up, or won’t make it through the night at the BIN. But these lack all the nasty scars, ashy lume and ugliness that give the street cred to the hipsters- they pay more for ugly- so who knows.
Good call. Didn’t make it through the night. And it wasn’t me!

That one seems odd. I thought they added radiation symbols in revision B so Mil-w-46374A shouldn't have that on the dial. Also, thought they added those symbols later in the 70s. These vietnam era watches are huge minefields so everyone should do their due diligence on them.

I’ve always avoided these plastic watches as they were made to be truly disposable- much like the attitude of the military towards the soldiers that wore them at the time.

Agree with you completely and the story of a disposable watch for a disposable 18 year old is a sad one. Though if folks have interest in these here is a full collection of the reference that might interest others. Need to be a member of MWRForum to see it though.

The dial and crystal looked so good compared to the condition of the case I immediately suspected it had been refurbished at some point.

I figured because these were intended to be disposed of that they would be pretty rare.

Ford Pinto’s were meant to be disposed of (should have been right from the dealer) and those are pretty rare these days- but I’m not lining up to buy one.

Unusual little Certina, I assume early 30’s by the style. Cased by Illinois for Certina- this is a very cool piece. Very small at 26mm which was a common man’s size during this time. Seems like something right in line with what @Syrte collects.

That one looks really lovely! A lot of watchers though so squeezing a bargain might be difficult.
It’s why it why typically only post BIN watches as what is a bargain now may not be at the end with an open auction. Plus we don’t want to add competition to a fellow member who may be bidding- but a BIN is fair game as anyone can grab it instantly.

Good point, I’ll stick to posting BINs.

Very pretty 34mm stainless Elgin from the late 60’s. Seller seems to be a hobbyist and serviced it himself- which means he’s basically giving the watch away and charging $50 for his time- can’t beat that.

Someone got a deal at £69 I forgot to get on and bid ::facepalm1::🤬
Ouch- that hurts. Had this happen with a spectacular Lady Eterna Kontiki on factory bracelet, watchmaker owned and serviced- has been watching it for days, didn’t put in a snipe, forgot about it in the last hour and it sold for $110.🤦

Well, you can expect it (the Seiko) to be reposted. I was the winning bidder and although the seller published a sensible list of countries he wouldn’t post to Australia wasn’t on the list. He cancelled the sale without discussion and then sent a message saying he “cannot post to Australia “. Must be a problem with the Royal Mail
Bidders beware, if you don’t live in the UK..
