This one must be taking great restraint on your part Bill, kind of like me passing on that Depthomatic for $680 (I am now kicking myself). This really feels more like torture than therapy sometimes.

40’s Helbros with salmon/ copper colored sector dial. This could be a diamond in the rough- I have a feeling that dial is spectacular. Probably small-ish around 31mm, may be 32. This could be a stunner.

Nice SS Elgin day/date with linen dial and bright yellow lume pips on the chapter ring (looks like all are there except 10 is weak). I have/had (wife procured it) a Benrus like this and the 35mm chunky case really wears beautifully since it’s all dial. Nice watch for under $100.
Edit- posted too fast, looks like there is discoloration around the dial- take that into consideration.

Take advantage of this poorly photographed watch at a nice BIN price ($69 !)and misclassified on eBay:

Early 1950s 10k gold-filled bumper automatic, 36mm, and a runner too. Hands are correct and gold fill looks intact all around the case. For clarity, ask the seller for pictures of the lugs and case sides to verify minimal wear along the edges. Great starter watch for those of you who want to get into vintage watches during the golden era.

Dial looks OK under the scratched crystal and flash photo, although I cannot tell what's going on at 2 o'clock:

Ah, the joys of hunting for vintage watches with bad photography!

Thank you kind sir for the heads up on this one, snagged for $51. A beautiful bumper in superb condition. That black blemish was part of the lume floating around. Just need a crystal to complete - if anyone knows the reference. I always find it charming when there are service marks inside caseback. In this case going back to 1956.

At first I thought @Norfolk was actually sharing an eBay deal- but then I saw he already bought it 😉
Silly me 🙄

Bill -

It’s a shame about the dial and hands on that one. Never seen a Ref. 2516 with leaf hands. But it would be almost impossible to find a similar watch with original box and paperwork.

Serial number is only 69 away from my Ref. 2517 Omega Chronometre, which also came without the “Adjusted five (5) positions, etc.”

Above picture taken before I replaced the rotor with an engraved one later on.

Hi Evan

nice watch ..... I am still on fence w dial but would just discount on side of caution and call it a redial for purchase reasons /value. I have seen leaf hands on this model in the past so that does not “ ring any alarms “ .

I am watching this one ....

Good hunting

It’s the 4th or 5th different auction for this one. He even tried one with a 1$ starting bid I ended up winning but my 200$ didn’t reach the reserve...

Hi Again...

This one is even cooler... seller says it a black dial but depending on the angle it looks to appear blue or black... and maybe even grey !

Hello everyone. For my first post I would like to thank Bill Sohne for his sterling work! Thanks to him I got this great watch and had you told me it was brand new, I wouldn't have been surprised! It's a blue dial...
