After the article in the 'dink today...this might have just shifted to 'good value'.

It is not necessarily bad, but this is a spaceview conversion. Bulova provided the parts to do conversions at the point of sale. Any Accutron with a 214 movement could be converted to a space-view. This is a Ludmil Balevski watch, an honest seller by all accounts and a well-known Accutron specialist. He converts all his 214s to space-views. I have not bought from with him personally, but am not opposed to it.

I have never seen him sell one. I think he gets watches on the cheap, services them and resales them. There are not many cheap Astronauts these days. If you know of one PM first.

@wagudc, I have this one incoming based partly on the feedback you passed along regarding Ludmil Balevski. It should be here some time between tomorrow and the 18th, depending on how long it sits in Chicago distribution. Looking forward to adding it to the rotation!

I like 218s from him. You pay the price of the service and he throws in a watch for free. You picked a nice one IMHO.

Hi Guys

It not inexpensive but it worth looking at to see the clear definition of the beveled bezel .... typically this type is detail is lost to time ( a life time of wearing with starch dress shirts and cuffs !.... ) .

NOS stainless Hamilton from the late 60’s- this is akin to the Pan-Europe...wow. This is friggin stunning, still has the sticker on the back. 39mm so it’s a biggie for it’s time- will wear like any modern watch- but this is the real deal. Nothing I can say that the pictures don’t. Someone please make an offer on this so I can know where it is and drool.
I’m posting more than one pic because this deserves it.

Once again the photos tell the real story, not NOS, a book, a box and a sticker don't make this one NOS.

Uh-oh....

I see some micro-scratching on the brushed case and very little on the back- I’m not seeing signs of a re-brush/polish unless it was very well done. Are you suggesting this was re-done or just not NOS?

I'd call it more than micro-scratching. I get real tired of all the claims of "may have small marks due to handling and storage." This watch was worn, in my opinion. And saying "NOS condition" (as opposed to just "NOS") is another ploy aimed at people looking for real NOS watches. NOS condition doesn't mean anything; it's like saying "my wife isn't pregnant, but she's in a pregnant condition."

Ah that’s nice! Did someone here get it?

And I can’t believe how well this thread is going! Every time I go to contribute I end up buying a watch,
::facepalm1::.

I wonder if there’s interest in a little brother forum thread to show watches bought here - even better before and after cleanup - or in my case, due to attempting to contribute.

I guess I have been looking at beaters too long - this one looks reeel purty 👎

I agree- when looking closely, the guy is stretching the truth- and that’s a little shady. That said- I think it’s still one of the better ones we have seen...but yes, a watch is only NOS once- and this one passed that when it was worn.

This thread has made the 'what to get you for Christmas' question quite easy for my wife. Another/bigger watch box!

It seems I'll be getting her a watch box too...her collection is also expanding due to this thread. I find it an easy way to solve for 'there's another delivery on the porch...did you buy ANOTHER watch!?!?'... 'Yes honey, this one is for you!'

Win/Win

Thanks guys!
